What we collect

Nothing at all if you simply read answer pages. Reveal buttons, the grid blur and the clue search all run in your browser; no keystroke or click is sent to us or stored.

If you write to us through the contact form we receive the name, email address and message you type, so that we can reply and fix whatever you reported. If you sign up for the daily answers newsletter we store your email address, and your first name if you give one, purely to send that email.

Cookies and analytics

We use aggregate traffic statistics to see which pages are read. These record the page requested, a coarse location and the type of browser. They are not tied to a name, an email address or an advertising profile, and we do not sell or share them.

Keeping and deleting your data

Newsletter addresses are kept until you unsubscribe, and every email carries an unsubscribe link. Contact messages are kept while the issue is open and then deleted. Write to us at any time and we will delete anything we hold about you.
